Description
Greg Minnaar's signature tire is the essence of his 30 years of racing experience and Maxxis' expert knowledge from over 50 years of tire production. The idea behind the Assegai was to develop a tyre that combines exactly the golden mean between grip and speed in one package. Its tread is a blend of the Minion DHF, Minion DHR II and Highroller treads, so the Assegai combines the best of the three: lower rolling resistance, optimal braking power transmission and aggressive grip, in all conditions. In addition, the Assegai is tubeless ready, because tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure, so you get better traction and rolling resistance decreases. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other "Tubeless Ready" tires. The bead of the TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer, just like a real UST tubeless tire. This makes tubeless mounting on all rims with standard dimensions successful from the very first inflation and with little fluid.
