MRC Shock Cooling Fins - Fox Float X2 / DHX 2
Description
The Shock-Cooling-Fins are the right accessory for your damper on long and hard descents! The damper converts kinetic energy into heat and gets warm itself - when heated, the damper oil changes its viscosity and the damping force decreases (keyword viscosity index). With the cooling fins you improve the heat dissipation and make sure that the damper and its oil stay cooler. You get a more constant behavior of your damper when it really gets down to business.
With quasi-identical test runs at 27° outside temperature, 13.33% less heating of the damper oil was measured. At lower outside temperatures, the difference is even greater. The CNC-milled cooling fins were developed by Reichmann-Engineering and are 100% manufactured in Germany. The Fins fit all Fox Float X2 as well as Fox DHX2 shocks and are simply attached by cable ties. For optimization, commercial thermal paste can optionally be applied to the contact surfaces.
