Inconspicuous design and significantly less extra weight than you might think!
Only around 110 g heavier than a conventional stem and its design is not recognizable as a damped stem. This is unique on the market, no other damping system is so slim and inconspicuous. Despite this, the ShockStop from Redshift can be individually adjusted in terms of damping firmness, making it the perfect solution for a little more comfort and, for many, the solution to tired, numb and sleepy hands.
No loss of handling, no loss of design, acceptable additional weight
The hardness of the damping can be varied individually. To do this, simply remove the two previously installed plastic dampers and reinstall two of the five supplied dampers. Thanks to the large selection of combinations, everyone can find the perfect damping.
The damping does not restrict riding at the limit. The bike still steers very directly and you still get full power on the pedals when pedaling out of the saddle.
It is also important that the stem does not look any different from "normal" stems. It looks like a stem and therefore adapts very well to the look of a road bike without being "bulky". There are other models on the market that are large and often don't look very good on a road bike.
For many, weight is also a factor: here you can say that the damping only makes up around 110 g compared to a conventional stem in the 50 euro class. This means that the bike is not noticeably heavier (but noticeably more comfortable).
Application 1: All road cyclists who have problems with sleepy & tingling hands
The ShockStop stems can be a solution for hands that fall asleep or tingle when riding a road bike
.Many road cyclists struggle with hand problems. A different riding position or padded gloves often help to get the problem under control. However, if you still have problems, the ShockStop stem from Redshift Sports could be the perfect solution. The wrists are relieved and shocks are absorbed. The ride becomes much more comfortable. The suspension travel of up to 2 cm can be individually adjusted in hardness (by combining the plastic dampers differently).
And it's all completely inconspicuous. The damping is not immediately recognizable from the outside, the wheel retains its original design.
Application 2: Gravel bikes and Gravelplus bikes

Nowadays, many athletes ride GravelPlus bikes on a wide variety of terrains. They ride their "racing bikes" over hill and dale. With the ShockStop stem, you simply have even more reserves and comfort, especially on rough terrain. Where your arms would otherwise tire quickly, e.g. on rough stone tracks, you can now roll comfortably over them. The result: more range, less fatigue, no more arm and hand problems.
Setting the shock absorber firmness explained in detail
The damping is adjusted using elastic plastic dampers. These are available in five different strengths, all five are included in the scope of delivery and can also be purchased as a 5-pack. Two of the dampers are installed. You can now combine two very soft dampers for very soft damping or, conversely, install two hard dampers for very hard damping. Of course, soft and hard, etc.
This means that the damping can be varied very individually in terms of hardness. The conversion is very simple.
Available in five stem lengths and an extra version with a 30-degree angle
This stem is available in sizes 80, 90, 100, 110 and 120 mm. Simply order the size that you currently ride, and even better of course is a bike fitting in which you are measured on your bike accordingly. If you have problems with your hands, we always recommend a bike fitting (also available from us in Hanover).
In addition, the 100 m version is available in +30 degrees for a more upright riding position.
