Beadnip: Spank's patented Bead Nip rim profile keeps the tire stable in the rim, even with little pressure, and thus counteracts any churning or bouncing. Punctures are thus minimized.
OoBah profile: The term Ooh Bah describes the Spank own rim profile that through the special design of the occurring force flows better and protects the rim so before denting. In addition, the wall at various points can be dimensioned accordingly. This makes the rim lighter without losing stability. Un in Punnkto rotating mass ultimately counts every gram!
MGR - Micro Grain Refinement: stands for mechanical processes that optimize the reduction and consistency of various aluminum grain sizes and structures. The result is evrbesser strength, hardness and formability. MGR material refinement is used immediately in the production of Spank rims, handlebars and stems.
Flash-Weld: To weld or not to weld, that is the question here! Most aluminum alloys require heat treatment after welding. Without this, the seam would be very brittle and fragile. Therefore, the area around the welds on rims often has weak spots. The flash-welding process eliminates this problem. Here, both butt ends are gently fused together and no different structural density is created, as with normal welding, which could ultimately lead to fracture.
Super6 aluminum: Super 6 aluminum is the name of the material for Spank's high-quality rim production of the models Oozy, Tweet, Tweet and Stiffy. Based on conventionally proven 6 aluminum, Super 6 is a special, optimized alloy. This makes the rims even lighter, stiffer and more durable than ever before.
