This project began with the desire to run 11-speed rear derailleurs and shifters from Shimano with SRAM 10-42t XD cassettes. Admittedly, the combination can work without modification - but the performance wasn't quite what we would expect from the best Shimano and SRAM models.
When used with a 10-42 tooth cassette, the GoatLink 11 positions the SLX M7000, XT M8000 rear derailleurs and in the smallest cog is improved by 27%.
Because we know that certain situations require a range that goes beyond the 10-42 tooth or 11-42 tooth cassettes, we have optimized the GoatLink 11 to also significantly improve the performance of the Shimano 11-speed rear derailleur with extended range, such as the modified 10-44 tooth XX1 or Wolf Tooth GCX 44t X01 cassette.
